Interested in joining the Texas A&M IHSA Equestrian Team? You’re in the right place!

This page contains everything you need to know about tryouts for the upcoming season. We’re currently in the process of updating details and forms, so be sure to check back regularly—any new information or changes will be posted here.

The tryout application for the 2025–2026 season is coming soon!

Below are the short-answer questions that will be included on the application, so feel free to get a head start on your responses! 

1. Why do you want to join the Texas A&M IHSA Equestrian Team? 
2. What would you contribute to our team? (Consider your skills, personality, experience, etc.)
3. The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) emphasizes sportsmanship, team support, and strong horsemanship in both competition and team-related events. What do sportsmanship and horsemanship mean to you? 
4. If you are a member of any equestrian organizations such as USEF, AQHA, USDF, USEA, NRHA, APHA, IEA, or others, please list the organization(s) and your membership number(s). If not, please write N/A. 

If you have riding videos, we'd love to see them before tryouts! Please compile your footage into a single video and email a link to aggieihsa@gmail.com so we can view it.

Please note: All prospective members must submit an application and attend tryouts to be eligible for competitive membership on the Aggie IHSA Equestrian Team.

All riders must complete the Student Organization Waiver before participating in tryouts.

A completed physical exam is required in order to try out, and proof of the exam must be submitted. You’ll also need to submit a signed Liability Release.

If you’re unable to obtain a physical before tryouts, you may submit the Liability Release Without Physical instead.

Payment is required upon arrival at tryouts.

The tryout fee is $30 for new members and $12 for returning members. Please be prepared to pay by cash, check, or online via Flywire. If paying by check, make it payable to AggieEqIHSA.
